ABOUT THE IMPROVABLES

A Legacy of Laughter

In the Beginning

The Improvables were initially formed in 2008 at Rodgers Memorial Theatre in Centerville, Utah, when the theater’s managers issued a casting call for actors to put on a family-friendly, live, late-night improv show to follow its regular musical and dramatic productions on the main stage. As a rag-tag team of improvisers joined and as they performed regularly on Friday nights, audience sizes grew to near-capacity crowds as did troupe membership, with talented actors from across the Wasatch Front adding to Improvables’ talent pool.

When Rodgers Memorial Theatre closed at the end of 2010, the Improvables became an independent entity and resumed performing at the brand-new CenterPoint Legacy Theatre in Centerville in 2011 on the black box stage. After seven years, the troupe later moved its home base to Bountiful Davis Art Center in Bountiful in 2019 and, in 2025, back to Centerville at Backstage Performing Arts. Improvables have also had regular stints putting on primetime Saturday night shows at Playbills Theater and Clearfield Community Arts Center, both in Clearfield.

The Improvables Today

Since 2008, our shows have become synonymous with humor and fun that the whole family, couples, and groups of friends can enjoy together. Davis County’s only improv troupe has gained followers throughout the state as we’ve performed with other Wasatch Front improv troupes, both on our home stage and in their (and other) venues from Logan to Orem.

As we move toward the end of our second decade of making improv magic together, we look forward to continuing to create a one-of-a-kind experience for all audiences for years to come.
